NEH Funded Project to Digitize Walters Islamic manuscripts

In an NEH funded project, running from September 2008 to September 2010, The Walters Art Museum aims to create digital surrogates of all its Islamic Manuscripts, and to make them accessible to all, free of charge. We are beginning to see the results of this initiative, and so blogging on this site seems to be a natural extensive of our mission.

Islamic Manuscript Images on this site

Under my photos, we have added 12 images from Walters Islamic Manuscripts, and will continue to add them as the project progresses. They come with descriptions very closely based on those of Adam Gacek, who is cataloging the Walters Islamic Manuscripts as part of the NEH grant.
